The Wombats

This is another 'treasure' that I got from Warrnambool. Iolande likes to listen their songs--again, it's because of Fletcher that always plays the Indie-Rock bands' songs. The Wombats is more absurd if I can say, as their lyrics are typically not related from oneparagraph to the next one. Like this lyric, I take it from their song titled "Tokyo (Vampires and Wolves)":

We're self imploding
Under the weight of your advice
I wear a suitcase
Under each one of my eyes
Finally I know now what it takes
It takes money and aeroplanes

[Chorus:]
If you love me let me go
Back to that bar in Tokyo
Where the demons from my past
Leave me in peace (ah ah ah ah)
I'll be animating every night
The grass will be greener on the other side
And the Vampires and Wolves
Won't sink their teeth (ah ah ah ah)
I'm sick of dancing with the beast

Astrophysics you'll never be my closest friend
I find no comfort in what my mind can't comprehend
Finally I work out what it takes
It takes money and airplanes

[Chorus:]
If you love me let me go
Back to that bar in Tokyo
Where the demons from my past
Leave me in peace (ah ah ah ah)
I'll be animating every night
The grass will be greener on the other side
And the Vampires and Wolves
Won't sink their teeth (ah ah ah ah)
I'm sick of dancing with the beast

No matter how much it needs me
Go and follow someone else's lead

[Chorus:]
If you love me let me go
Back to that bar in Tokyo
Where the demons from my past
Leave me in peace (ah ah ah ah)
I'll be animating every night
The grass will be greener on the other side
And the Vampires and Wolves
Won't sink their teeth (ah ah ah ah)
I'm sick of dancing with the beast

See? What's the relation between  the bar in Tokyo, demons, the greener grass, and vampires and wolves that won't sink their teeth? They're just crazy, nevertheless very creative. I'm starting to like sort of indie, folk, pop, bands though. But the jazz and blues always go first :)
